Every Kid Eats
At Summit, we believe that Every Kid Eats, and we’re committed to ensuring our local students do not go hungry.
Many students in our community eat at school Monday-Friday, but when the weekend comes, access to food is scarce - but together, we can step in as a community and help fill that gap for kids.
That’s why we’ve launched Power Packs, a ministry of Summit that provides a full weekends’ worth of kid-friendly, nutritious food for students K-12th grade, all packaged in a backpack that’s easy for kids to carry.
We collect kid-friendly food that can be easily prepared, filling each Power Packs bag with enough food for six full meals (+ snacks!), then deliver the Power Packs to local schools throughout the school year to be distributed to food-insecure students each Friday for the weekend.
